Again

That's right...I'm posting again so soon after the last one. Since we have been driving Davin into school, the mornings where I have a spare(or two like today) I sit around and do homework or play around on the computer. Since I have no homework, here I am. Well, I do have something due next Friday but that'll only take about five minutes so I;m gonna do it later, cause I am a procrastinator!

Ordered a new battery for my MacBook today. I guess the problem with these new batteries that last for hours and hours and hours is that their total life has been cut to about 1-2 years were as before they could last up to 5 years. I'm getting about half an hour tops out of mine. I could have waited and just been attached to the wall for the longest time but that kinda defeats the purpose of a laptop and on top of that, since I am a student I can actually get discounts on stuff on the Apple store site. Pretty sweet. I also bought a word processor from there....I know, I know, I can hear you all right now: "But, Andrew! There are free ones on line that are good!" How do I put this...um...no there aren't. I downloaded 5 different word processors. Even with the best of them, when I printed out a document the letters were overlapping on the page so I had to go in and put spaces in the middle of words just so that it would look right when I printed.

But that's enough about that. I'd also like to buy iLife for my MacBook and possibly a parallels desktop(allows you to run windows in the Mac OS) but I think those are going to have to wait cause they are a hundred bucks a piece. Looking online at the stuff I could(and would) us for this mac I could probably spend $1000 easily...and that is stuff I would use!

I'm also trying out the mobileMe that Apple offers. It comes with a 20gig online hard drive and has a website that can be accessed from any web browser on any computer. It has e-mail as well as the ability to sync certain files on your computer(address book, calendar, public folders) so that you can copy them to another Mac with extreme ease. I got it for the hard drive so that Steve and I can have somewhere online to put music files but I am starting to like the Calendar option that it provides. Although I know I can get just as good of a calendar with Google. I'm on the free trial for two months but if I like it I might just pony up the $100 for the year subscription. I find it also nice to keep my school work on so that I don't have to worry about carrying my little flash drive around, if I forget it I still have an option to get at my files. But I think I'm gonna do some more research and see what else is out there for that kind of stuff.

Wow, this is a long post.

Doing pretty good in school so far. I'm pretty much breezing through everything except math. They are teaching the basics in everything else which is stuff I learned in the field. Math however is a different story. I've learned most of what we are taking before but it was about 5 years ago so I'm trying to stay with it. Had a test last Friday and got 62% on it so I passed by 2%. Got another test next Friday and I hope I do OK. I have to try and do well on these small test cause I know the midterm and the final are going to be the hard ones.

hmm.

yes.

The Criminal Kid is finally having our first show n October 9th at the exchange. It's gonna be awesome. A few Metal bands and hopefully a large amount of beer, that other people buy, and give to me...for free. Hey, a man can dream. Plus Jeremy did tell people to do it on the web page and since when do people not listen to the internet.

Anyway, I'm kinda running out of things to say and I think I have wasted enough of your time as it is....stay frosty!
