Canada - Land of the Land
Did you know I live in Canada? It's a country on the planet Earth. It is located north of the United States of America, east of the United States of America and west of France. It contains mountains, plains, hills and valleys. It celebrates it's birthday on July 1st, just to get ahead of the Americans.
Canada is one of the less.....historically problematic countries in the world, mostly due to it's young age, but it still has it's dark past. And it's dark present too. As with any place in the world, there are pros and cons. You could argue that, as with any place in the world, many of the cons can be directly attributed to people in power, like politicians and police.
I enjoy watching history videos on YouTube a lot. One of the things that sticks out to me is the idea of city states. Now, I'm not going to go around saying that's how we should do it, but man. Just having Saskatoon being the main government for all the towns around just sounds better than what we have sometimes. And yeah, I know this would leave a lot of people out that aren't close to a city of that size. Cons everywhere.
I should be allowed to go to the northern forests of Canada and just build a cabin and live there without paying anything though. I am a pro tax guy. I know they help build things like roads and schools and driving instructors. It would be nice to have the option to not pay taxes though.
I do love the idea of taxes with Canada, though. I get roads, hospitals, etc from them. I think it's a good trade. Sure, there are problems with it, but it's better than going broke cause you break a finger like in the states. I'd actually like it to extend to additional things, like college education. I know some places in Europe do something like that and I believe it would just make EVERYONE's life easier. My life is better when the people around me are smarter. New York City has something like that too. Every child enrolled in whichever grade it is (preschool?) gets $1000 dollar saving account created when they first enroll. This grows when they are in school and then they can go and use it on College. It used to be $100 but Mamdani increased it.........Commie!!
But I think we can all agree on the one main thing that our taxes could buy. A large laser to carve a maple leaf into the moon. The top tip should start at the Apollo 11 landing site as a middle finger to our southern neighbours. And if they want to stop us? Laser 'em! Laser off all of their eyebrows. PEW PEW!
Unless you have a better superweapon idea...

Not to mention, it allows you to move around to a city where you're more aligned with the politics. Don't like AI? Move to a town that bans it. Love bridges, move to Saskatoon.
