Noted

I am the worst note taker around. I take lots of notes in meetings and in general life but I'm sooooo bad at it. I've got a thing for stuff about the wife that is alright after years of edits but in the moment....oooffff.

For example, I use the notepad app. The Google and apple one are similar (Google's is a bit better) with options for bullet lists, open typing, etc. I have lists for various parts of my D&D campaign: enemy ideas, story ideas and so on.  In the future encounters I have a bullet that just says yellow blackberries. I know I had an idea there but that just sounds like they need ripening without any additional info.

And I'm the same way with my work notes but with the added benefit of shitty writing. I've gotten better at slowing myself down to write a proper note but if the meeting continues on, I'm fucked.

Or the great times where I write the titles of a game or book Ina blue and have no idea why I wrote the word entity. You have a list for future media! Use it, you dunce!

I'm also not a doodler in my notebooks. I'll never have a great book like Indiana Jones diary. If I doodle it just ends up a black splotch I've scribbled in. Or blue splotch of I'm feeling naughty.

Pilot recently posted about his past journals. I've tried keeping some of my work notebooks like that but there is literally nothing to be gained. 90% can't be read by any mortal and the other ten has no context. Plus the notebook I liked the best is refillable so there's that as well.

But give me a good pen and I'm gonna use it!

I bought a fountain pen recently. So I'm that kind of pretentious note taker now.

To be clear my journals are also 90%useless and 120% unreadable. But 15 faux leather notebooks on a shelf makes you look SO SMRT
