Heresy & Corruption
By now, most of the internet connected world has seen the campaign put on over on Pilot's World to elect my father, Denis , to the position of Pope of the Catholic Church. It's been all anyone has been talking about and he has been the much anticipated shoo-in....shoe-in? Shoe-end? for the position. The cardinals have been making us wait, just to keep people wondering. Don't want to make things too easy for him!
But, what most of the waking world probably hasn't seen, is that a new pope has been chosen. And it is not the great and wise Denis.
This is a god damn outrage! I try not to get into religion too much but it is obvious in this case that money changed hands. Or maybe power.
So, anyways, big week in the Pilon-Khoei household this week. Well, at least for me. I don't know about the other denizens of the mighty tower. I got myself some new headphones and a new computer.
The headphones were a pain as I've been SUPER happy with JBL headphones. Sadly, they are an American company so I ventured out to Audio Technica and bought a pair of over the ear headphones. Today is the first try with them and so far I like them. When you start them up instead of beeps and such for pairing, I get a sexy AI voice. Ooooooohhh. Watch out, wife. There's a new woman in town!
The computer was a little more simple. Hard not to buy American and I wanted a mac. Which is mostly built outside of America anyway so whatever. I bought a mac mini. It's super tiny. The box box was smaller than the one for my headphones. It's just the 'tower' portion so I have to do monitor and all that myself but it is just as powerful as a macbook but WAY cheaper. only about $1200 bucks, and that's with me paying for it for two years.
I haven't dug too much into it yet but it'll be a nice replacement for my 2012 model mac that can't be updated anymore. I'm going to see if I can use it as a monitor. It is nice to have a new, and good, computer. My windows laptop didn't last much past a year, but I also paid very little for it.
My thoughts for this one are that I bought a cheap-ish but quality computer that can actually do stuff and I can slowly upgrade it with a better monitor, etc. If I want a laptop, I can buy a really cheap one off marketplace or something and just share the screen of the mac mini to it. It's getting easier and easier to do stuff like that these days.
Now to set up the old one as a bitcoin miner and rake in the pennies to pay my power bill!

I'm not even ready to talk about the outcome of this Conclave yet. That they would go with such a youngster is disturbing. Anyone for Antipope Denis? It's still a KIND of Pope.
