Friday, eh? Time for another blog post, I guess. You'd like that, wouldn't you? For ol' Navigator to type out a post for your eyeballs to read. Maybe I will, maybe I won't. I'll never tell. Maybe instead I'll build a 13-carat Brazilian Space Tug with solid Jello grills. That would show you.
I've got to make something though. I've got the "use my hands" itch. No, not that one. Get your mind out of the gutter! Or don't. I'm not your boss.
I've been playing lots of building games lately and I always want to transfer that to real life. Unfortunately, it's never as easy as it is in the games. Pilot recently talked about reno's and such in a house. I do have to finish installing the trim from when we converted a closet to an office when we first moved in to our place three years ago. Probably about an hour of work, if that. I suck at the detail stuff though. I like stuff that doesn't look good cause then my details aren't noticed. That's why I like using a wash with my miniature painting (Paint mixed with water so it just flows into the crevices and looks good.).
I've also seen some ideas in some of my video games for easy stuff I could make so I might try some of those if I can put down the controller for a bit. Also finding it tough to work in the garage right now without Dash hanging out and watching me the whole time, but I don't want to talk about that.
I also need to set aside time for some education. I'm taking an online course at the moment and probably have a couple others to go to get where I want. It's all go as fast or slow as you want so I need to make sure I'm doing it properly and not just doing a bunch one week, leaving it for a month then coming back. That never helps me out.
Work is a constantly shifting entity. It seems like management is finally starting to figure out that they don't know what they are doing and are starting to shift themselves around. It's frustrating because they are all smart people, they're just trying to do the wrong jobs and failing miserably. We have a new VP in charge of our immediate design and construction group though and he has previous experience with building so I'm hopeful on that.
The whole drafting thing is getting a little old though. I've seen jobs pop up at interesting places for safety officers or project coordinators and I'm interested because it's something different. Just who I am, I guess. I like SRC for the most part (not perfect, but what company is?) and ideally it would be nice to stay here, but I'm getting stressed and frustrated. That's never a good combination for me.
I know, I know. Complaints, complaints, complaints. Pilot mentioned in previous posts that he complains too much in them, and I get it. I feel I complain too much too. But these posts are also supposed to be a bit of therapy between us I think. Sometimes you need to get those complaints off your chest and others you just need to talk about some new and cool punk rock playlist you've made for cooking pizza.
In the end, it's all just a bunch of stuff that happened!

I think the anxiety of this month is reminding me of that goal. It's a priveledge that I can sort of ease my way through this to be sure. Honestly it's a lot to think about changing companies. I've been at the same place for nearly 18 years - I don't really even know how to get another job. I keep hearing about these rezoo may things. Might find out what that is first.
And yeah - I should be ok with being a bit negative and therapeutic on the blog. I think it's mostly my creative side saying "let's do something fun and different here, everyone is depressed on the internet all the time."
I do have something fun planned for next week! And it's not Zelda. Though I think that'll come in the next month too.
