Psycho Doggie. Qu'est Que C'est?

Not gonna lie, I miss when it was just Capone and I. We used to go play and walk all the time and we RULED the house. Nobody stood in our way except ourselves! Capone is a big love bug though without a mean bone in his body. Him and Sadie started wrestling the moment they first met and completely love each other.

I've talked about it before, but Dash is a fucking issue. He's on meds at the moment, unfortunately when his dad forgets to give them to him he goes off the deep end with the withdraw. It's frustrating but I don't want to blame him too much for that. We've had to change the way we do a few things, like he has to be locked up when he eats, and that has eliminated most issues.

I do currently have an open wound on my elbow from him going after Capone in bed last night. I ended up having to sleep with one on each side of me which absolutely killed my hips (Dogs on each side of me, not arms. Those are always left outside the room to prevent......incidents). All the puppies have to be sooooo close to me that I can't move. My legs are Sadies' pillows. As annoying as that can be, it's also super cute and sweet from her.

My body just can't handle those rough sleeps. I'm an old man now.

Hold on a second. I've already blogged about all this stuff! That actually gives me a great idea for a future blog. Randomizations greatest hits. Though it would suck to go through the back log,

Instead, for now, you get to read me getting a new topic live.

The provincial election and voting. I might add religion in there if I'm feeling like having a real brawl.

This year is Belle's first time being able to vote as she turned 18 on the 10th. She wants to vote but is sitting were most people are when they first turn 18: Don't pay attention to politics and don't care.

I've never considered myself right, centrist or left but most of my voting experience has been with the SaskParty in charge and both them and the current Liberal party are both at the "OK, we are sick of looking at your guys faces" point of their lifespan. I think the SaskParty is definitely more self serving than the Liberals and the Liberals are the lesser of two evils so they've got that going for them.

But, with me not considering myself one or the other I guess that puts me in the centrist location whether or not I admit it. I could see myself voting for the SaskParty back under Brad Wall and I think I voted Liberal in the federal as there was no NDP candidate. Possibly. My wife (The Purser? Fuel Technician?) and I have talked about how most, or at least a very large chunk, of the country likely falls into the centrist ideals and everyone would be happier with the NDP in charge for a bit but we tend to stick a little too close to America and basically have a two party system. Provincially it's NDP and SaskParty. Federally it's NDP and Liberal.

That's not to say the NDP does nothing. They have enough seats to have a say at both the top and bottom where as the Liberals aren't listened to in Saskatchewan or Alberta. And probably other provinces I know nothing about.

I've said it before, but it is rare for a country to last long. The ones that have (Egypt, China, Rome, etc.) tend to do it by supressing people hard. Canada and the USA are gigantic countries and it just might be time for them to break into smaller countries. I think that could be done peacefully in Canada but I doubt it could be done in the USA without bloodshed. And I say this all knowing that Saskatchewan would end up with Alberta and maybe Manitoba who would get very tired about having to pay for Saskatchewan. We may have resources but we are a small population over a very large area and it is not a good combination for the highest quality of life out there.

Now, to be clear, I don't want Canada or the USA to split up. I think we are stronger and better together. But, the average farmer has completely different values to a city dweller in Saskatoon, let alone Toronto or *Checks notes* Montreal. No government style is safe from the ravages of the human mind and conflict. Things are getting worse with our connectivity these days. Hopefully, we can learn to deal with that and realize what's good for me, isn't necessarily good for the 39 million people in Canada.

God, that's such a small population when you look at it.

"OK, we are sick of looking at your guys faces." Boy you nailed the political cycle there!

I agree, North Americal in general wasn't portioned off quite right and it's made for some weird divisions and regional standoffs. I've always thought that there could be three north american countries where there are now two. I would run the borders more north/south. So there would be an east coast country, a west coast country and a midwest/prairie country. Obviously that brings other issues into play, like that middle country having no access to the ocean or the ocean countries having no food production. But politically it feels like that's how people divide up.

It also might be time in both Canada and the US for a strong centrist party to form. Political analysts see that most people lie in the centre on most issues but the parties have become increasingly extreme so that only the fringes are being represented.

I dunno. Maybe fascism is due for a comeback.
