None Like it Hot!
Well, this has been a simply scorching week. We don't have any A/C and last night I was woken up at 1am with Sadie and Capone standing next to me panting heavily. I also think their paws had melted into the carpet. I'm pretty sure it was above 30 degrees in our room so I took them downstairs and ended up sleeping on the couch. Two humans and three dogs is just too much to handle.
Luckily a massive banger of thunderstorm ripped through at about 2am and cooled stuff down a bunch. I'm sitting here at home on my day off enjoying the temperature and thinking I'll actually be able to turn the oven on tonight.
Sadie also got the bonus of climbing into the air conditioned car today as I had to take her to the vet. She's been before and was alright but, she had Capone with her. This time she was scared of everything and just tucked her tail at the vet and the tech. Lessons learned for next time: bring an emotional support Capone. The picture below is her right after the vet tech left the first time.
Of course, the vet is scary but somehow I was lucky enough to get THREE dogs that don't bat an eye at a storm and just mildly growl when fireworks start but then get over it. What are the odds of that?
And speaking of the animal world, pulled a tick off my armpit on Monday and yesterday I ended up spending a couple hours in the ER waiting to get that spot looked at. Didn't need to extract a head or anything, just infected which is great. Kind of felt bad going in there instead of a walk in but I figured if it was worse I would have been told to go to the ER. So I just sat there with the people holding IV's and in wheelchairs. Definitely a little worrying when a red, swelling rash starts to expand from the bite spot.
And the best part is now you can feel them crawling all over you! BAHAHAHAHA!

My dogs are pretty chill with all the books too. Chalk that up to 'hood life. But don't walk in a straight line towards them.
