I'll Move You!!

SO, living at the parents house for the weekend and part of the week, actually be moving back out tomorrow. Figured it would be easier to move everything on the weekend then to try and do it during the week. Got tomorrow off to move. Gonna get everything set up and done then chill the hell out.

Not too much happening other than the move right now. Stuff is pretty much the same as always. Work and work. Gotta love it.

Well, I guess that's pretty much it...other than that Rush was awesome.

+55

I just worked a 13 hour day in plus 55 degree heat and drank over 6 litres of water, two 600ml bottles of coke and a beer and I STILL have yet to take a pee or even feel like I need to pee....is something wrong with me??? I didn't eat until 7:30 either and that was only a sandwich.

RUSHing to GEDDY There Early Was a Good Choice in LIFESON!

hehehe.....always a good one.

Got back from Rush yesterday. Fucking awesome. Better than Tool. More stage lights and fireworks and flame throwers. Plus the lasers. Got myself a hat and shirt plus bought 3 Dream Theater CD's in Calgary. Rush played amazing the whole time. They just looked like they were up there having fun and the crowd was going bonkers wanting more. They played a 2 hour set with a short intermission in the middle. I don't care if you don't even like Rush, this is a concert you should see. I payed less for it than I did Tool but got better seats and more music out of it. Plus my throat is still sore from yelling. And Geddy has a video of me saying "TAKE OFF, HOSER!" Well, me and the rest of the crowd. You don't fully understand the drumming madness of Neil Peart, the squeal of Alex Lifesons' guitar or the pure rumble of Geddy's bass and the the power behind his voice until you see them live. It truly is a unique and exceptional experience.

Getting around Calgary was interesting. None of us new where we were going and Jon isn't very good at following a map while your driving. But I guess I'm not good at taking directions either so whatever. We got where we needed to go and that's all that matters. Don't really want to have to do it again all that badly but if I need to get there for another awesome concert I will. We stayed at a campground in Chestermere(suburb of Calgary to the East). It was about 1 hour or more away if you didn't know where you were going and probably 30-40 min if you did. We didn't.

Stormed the first night we camped really bad. Just pured really hard with lot's of really, really loud thunder but even with how hard it poured and our windows being wide open we never got wet...not a drop got inside. It's weird being in a place where there isn't wind.

GOt a raise at work the other day..only 75 cents and part of that was to offset the fact that I have to pay into the benefits package but a bunch of the other guys only got 50 cents so I figure I'm doing ok....Plus with overtime factored in I'll make $1.50 more. I'm ok with that...I'll take everything I can.

Ok, which colour do ya'll prefer for a guy who likes to claim he plays progressive metal:

The Fireburst -

Or the Emerald Burst -

SEATBELT!

That's right...I'm making a guitar strap out of a seatbelt...Just need Michelle to do some sewing for me. It's gonna be awesome.

Been playing around with my amp a lot. Got a really good distortion coming out of my Metal Zone pedal but the distortions coming off the amp are lacking. Just noticed Chris put up his setting on a post below which is awesome. Been searching around for some settings like that. I'm going to work with those and see what I can do. Thanks Gumbo.

I think the next purchase is going to be a guitar. Not sure what kind yet but I'll figure that out later. Leaning heavily on spending the money and just going big and getting a Gibson SG. Can't go wrong with those.

Found a new place to live in seeing as I am getting kicked out of this house. I';m going to be living at the Greystone apartments. I'll be saving some money and will have a dishwasher(kick ass!) but I'm going to have to be quiet WHich sucks seeing as I just bought a really fucking loud amp. Ah well...just have to play it somewhere else.

Watched a bit of Live Earth yesterday. just a couple groups. Spinal Tap kicked ass but sadly I didn't get to see the new song they wrote for the show. However, they some advice that I think you should all take to help save the environment. Make sure you throw everything away twice.

Fantastic Four 2 - Not so Fantastic. I love how they just happen to have a device to hold the surfboard just laying around. And it only takes one man a few days to build about a dozen different complicated devices. I thought this movie was about as bad as the Fantastic 4 car in it. I never even got to see Jessica Alba naked...but so close! I give it 4 Fantastics out of 10.
