How To Survive A Zombie Infestation.

Ok, there are many lists, I'm not saying they are wrong, this is just for those of you who don't know what to do.

Step one: As the wise Stephen Colbert put it: Panic - get it out of the way why you have the energy, it will leave you time later to think about the important things.

Step two: Get lots of food and weapons.. Prepare for a long stay of a year or maybe more.

Step three: Find an easily defendable posistion, preferably large since you will be there for a long time and will want some new scenery. Make it a place that's not too big because you and your closest companions will have to hold it. A mall or school is good but watch for schools with a great amount of first floor windows(which most have a lot of nowadays) and make sure the malls windows are shatter-proof.

Step four: make killing the zombies a game, have fun, remember, they are already dead.

Official Day.

From now on, I, Andrew Pilon, Mayor of this blog, Proclaim it "Andrew is Stupid" day in the world of Randomization. Every year on the 28th of July, you will be allowed to call me stupid and idiotic and stuff like that without recourse.(only on this blog though, and anything outside of the day will hurt you dearly.) This comes after I burnt both my arms shingling the roof today, in a repeat of the Sunstock incident. OR is it Brockstock? BrockBrock? Anywho. You have under 2 hours left this year to call me stupid and get away with it so get at 'er.

And tommorrow - How to surive a zombie infestation!

Garage-ation

We got more work on the Garage done today....I guess for those of you who don't know we are building a garage in our back yard. You got the roof panelling done and over half the shingles on and we managed to spread out the dirt in front where the car drives up. I finished framing the door....I just have to finish putting up a piece of plywood. It's looking pretty good and things are moving along pretty quickly.

I'm feeling much better now...still a little stuffed up but it's clearing up. I was getting sick and tired or not getting any sleep at night(no pun intended).

Pirates of the Carribean 2 - They all meet again in a race to find the dead man's chest in order to secure the freedom of lovers, souls and reputaions. And action packed comedy as good as the first. And Keira Knightly is still as hot. I give 'er 10 hearts out of 10......that's both the movie and the girl.

So, Lance Bass of N'Sync has finally come out of the closet and said that he is gay, to which I say: No Shit.

Still, Still Sick.

Iggh. I'm getting into the stuffed nose and cough portion of the cold...at least the sinus irritation has gone away. My colds always follow a specific pattern. First the sore throat, then stuffy nose and sinus irritation and then the cough with stuffy nose..all of those overlapping a bit.

I think the boss at McDOnald's has decided that I am now a Wal Mart regular because for the past three weeks I've been working there and it doesn't sound like it's going to me stopping anytime soon. It's not as bad as it was at first. It was really boring but you find ways to keep yourself busy and teach your self how to clean slower. It used to take me 30 minutes to clean the fryers and I've got it up to an hour now....I rule.

One month and I will be seeing TOOL!!!! WOOOOO!

I've decided that when I go off to school I'm gonna leave a select few of my games at home(ps2 and PC) because I am known for getting addicted to a game for days and weeks at a time. I'm going to leave the main ones at home to prevent distractions. The rest that I'm taking are short or boring enough that I won't get addicted for too long, or even at all, which mean less distractions.

I can't wait till my equipment from Behringer comes. There's a lot of stuff that I've been wanting to do musically but haven't been able to because of the lack of proper gear. This new stuff will allow me to record proper vocals and the effects on the mixer will add new dimensions to my sound. HURRY UP CLEO!

So, my parents threw away my work schedule yesterday. Not sure why. It kinda sucks cause now I don't know when I work the rest of the week...luckily I know tommorrow.

Well, that's about it. I'm gonna try and hit the sack cause I am very tired...chow.

Sleepless

Well, still got the cold which means I am awake all night. Took some Nyquil so that should knock me out soon, for now, I'm posting.

Went to the Bloggers meet and football game yesterday. For mor info see Pilot's World. I wish I hadn't been so sick or I would have enjoyed it more. All in all I thought it was a lot of fun. I got some pics but I don't think they'll look too good. I haven't looked at them yet though.

I'm currently recording the old Sisivalant jam tape I have onto my comp....I might put some of it up. A lot less than I remember there being. In some ways I remember us sounding worse and in some ways I remember us sounding better. I remember the sound of my guitar being different but it still isn't as bad as I thought it would be when I popped the tape in. All you can hear playing is Mike, Gumbo and me. Steve and Jon weren't plugged in yet, in fact, I think Jon was still using Ol' Betsy for a bass. Sad. Only three songs, not even a complete of the last one. I remeber having a tape of us playing one song over and over again but I'm not sure what happened to it. I might have taped over it but I sure hope not. Wait, I'm listening here and the tape had stopped last time earlier than this. And I just realized why the drums sound so crappy...it's because Mike's using my drums. oh, man...We are Sisivalant. You know a song had to be bad when even we dropped it. Man this brings back memories...we would have sounded so much better if I had my Metal Zone then. But whatever. We still had fun and I think we all learnt a lot. Man, we ruled. Oh MAN!!! a version without the Sponge Bob theme at the end!! WICKED! This tape kicks ass......I think this might be where we decided to add it, nope, maybe not...man. I keep making this really cool sound that I'd like to use but I have no idea how I did it. I know it's feedback but I'm doing some fingering to do it...I think I've got it....oh, someone just said Sponge Bob! Man, we were witty. Actually I haven't heard jon talk and very little of Steve. No guys...that riff would have sucked..I'm glad we used the Sponge Bob theme. Jeeze, Mike, how can you say it sucks when you haven't even tried it. Here is the third Ode practice. My guitar had such a buzz to it.

We kicked ass.

Well, I'm gonna keep listening here. Shine on bitches.

Still sick.

The sore throat has gone away but my sinuses are clogged up real good, and I have a feeling that tommorrow they'll be worse. Got the bloggers meet tommorrow, gonna meet some people and watch a football game. Riders better win. I have to remember my hat and camera and I'll take some pics for y'all, even if they are crappy ones.

Ordered my gear from cleo's. All I need now is a better guitar and nice Marshall amp. Unfortunatly they will both run into a very expensive price range. I'm not buying anything else unless it is a very good quality. All these years I've been buying the cheapest thing I can find(with the exception of pedals maybe, well, I bought high quality but still looked for the cheap ones) and I'm not happy with my set up. I'm realizing that I have to think big. I know a lot of guys who already have some kick-ass gear and I can have it too...but it will have to wait till I'm out of school and making the big buck producing records for bands like Rush, Tool, The Mars Volta and Shakira.

I know what kind of amp I want but I haven't really decided on a guitar. I might even just have some work done to mine. I think my Ibanez needs a new neck and maybe a new bridge. I like the sound the humbuckers on it produce so I think I'll keep them. If I could I'd put a full size neck on ol' betsy but that would look funny. I'd also like to get a bass and something easier to play in the acoustic area. Just so I can record shit by myself if I want. The acoustic comes last though seeing as I have one already and an acoustic pedal. The bass will be whenever I find something cheap in a second hand store of some kind. I would also like a drumset but that's looking real far into the future, many, many years into the future. I wouldn't have sold the last one but it was shit and I had no room for it anymore.....and I had just started to actually play it. I was doing better than Brad Wilk on the audioslave cd's.

But enough of my ranting. I have to get to bed so that I can wake up for tommorrow blog meet, plus I'm probably keeping my grandma and grandpa awake with my typing. They're down for the weekend and are looking as good as ever. Grandpa and dad falling asleep in thier chairs while the women and younger people talk...just like the old days.

Sick.

Kinda sick right now. Going through a cold. My throat is on freakin' fire right now. But ah well..I think it's starting to get better.

Went to Music Craft today and placed my order for some recording equipment. After a lot of deliberation I choose the following:

EURORACK PRO RX1202FX Ultra Low-Noise Design 12-Input Mic/Line Rack Mixer with Premium Mic Preamplifiers and 24-Bit Multi-FX Processor

and in order to hook that up to my computer I had to buy:

F-CONTROL AUDIO FCA202 Ultra low-latency 2 In/2 Out 24-Bit/96 kHz FireWire® Audio Interface

Now all I need is a Firewire card for my comp and I am set.

Concertina

So, I went to a concert tonight. I was kinda dissapointed. I left after the first two bands but it wasn't really the music that made me leave....it was the attitude. The first band, which constisted of Steve Biss, Chris Ebel, Mike Van Betuw, Vic Roman and Tyson O'Delle. They were good. Just heavy Metal at it's rawest, and tightest, form...even if one of thier songs soundly very familiar to an Arch Enemy song......but not too close. After that a band from Regina played. They were a punkish metal band, kinda the music that Mike Froh and them play. It's pretty band when a year ago that's all that was played and it's already the different music. People change what they like so freakin' much. Anyway, the gusy in the second band were cool and Steve decided to start a mosh pit.....It was Steve, Mike and me. And the second time the singer joined. It's pretty bad when the rest of the people are standing around laughing at us and claiming to be different when it was us three who were different. I dress up in something that isn't skin tight and black and I am different, unlike them. And the next band I have heard....they are loud just to be loud, they aren't very tight. But they would have gotten a huge mosh pit. I can't wait to see Tool because they are frekin' different. How many bands are out there that are like Tool....ok, now that you have a number...name the amount of hardcore or emo-core bands out there.....It's a much big number than the Tool one.

Upgradeage

Yesterday I went out and bought another 256 megs of ram and a 40 gig hard drive for my computer. I had about 100 megs left on mine. My computer is running much faster and takes seconds to start up instead of hours. I'm also looking at buying a USB sound board from Behringer. You can see it here. I've also been working at buying tickets to see Tool is Calgary on the 24th with Jon. Shanna is being kind enough to allow me to use her credit card for it but I just have to be able to talk to her now.

Dave Chapelle's Block Party - Wasn't exactly what I expected. Had a lot of typical Dave Chapelle humour but it also showed a lot of the rap music with it's hippin' and a-hoppin' and a-bippin' and a-boppin', I forgot what the jazz was all about! The movie was more just about the people coming together than it was about homour. I give it 6.5 industrious prostitutes out of 10.

Whatever.

Just got off three long days and I'm enjoying 2 days off. I ended up working 5-12 at work and working during the day at the lions fair booth. I couldn't get away from the hamburgers and I was getting pretty pissed off, Plus assign the fact that I had to stay late after work(till 2:30 one night, 1:00 another and 12:45 the other) because the one night maintenence guy is sick and I either have to do a crew close or help the one maintenece guy. Plus It's been incredibly busy all the nights and I wasn't able to start my closing lists, which are usually mostly done by 11 till about 11:30. But the days are over and on two of them I will get a little over time so all is well. Signed for a $10,000 loan so I can go to school. They offered more and I'm still going to apply for the canadian student loan. If I get it I would like to buy a Mac Laptop because that's what the school uses but my mother has suddenly done an about face. Up until today she couldn't stop asking me if I wanted to buy a new computer and today I said I wanted to and she got all pissed off at me. Not even sure why I'm going to fucking school. Everyone else seems to want me to go more than I do.
